Marie's Curriculum Vitae

Marie is a successful Director with experience in the public and private sectors. She has many years’ leadership and management experience applied in the context of major organisational change. She now concentrates on teaching, coaching and mentoring, giving a strong commitment to the professional development of others. She is a lecturer with a number of top UK business schools using electronic learning spaces to teach individuals and groups around the world. She is also a mentor and coach to private clients.

Interim Programme Director
Responsible for launching a review of health services across East Sussex. Outputs included: implementing a working project structure, a project plan, and a project team to support the work across many organisations involved in health and social care then appointing a successor.

Organisational Development Consultant
Responsible for providing OD support to a programme to develop a 10-year strategy for health and social care. Outputs included: design and launch of a two-year development programme to create the strategy and embed its aims and processes into day to day management.

Project Director
Responsible for developing a successful proposal for creating a new Teaching Primary Care Trust. Outputs included:

Director of Organisational Development and a Board Member

Director of Human Resources a two-year assignment.

>>• reviewing, redesigning and implementing a range of new policies including those for reward, >>>employee relations and union recognition
>>• managing staff accommodation, including disposals and trasnfers

Director of Community Services a one-year assignment.

>>• creating a new directorate comprising circa 650 staff and £10m and leading its transfer and >>>successful integration into a different business

Project Director for a Private Finance Initiative an 18-month project.
Outputs included:

Organisational Development Consultant, a six-month assignment in another organisation.

April 1978 – October 1988: Roles in public relations, advertising and sales in locations across Canada between 1978 and 1982, followed by two posts as Director of Business Colleges, one in Southern Ontario and then another in Vancouver

July 1972 – March 1978: A range of roles in advertising, sales and public relations for Thomson Newspapers and for a manufacturing organisation.
